I realized at a young age that I wanted to work in the helping field. This desire led me to study Chinese Medicine, mindfulness teachings and yoga philosophy, however my personal experience with counseling introduced me to the power of therapy.
Like many people, I have encountered obstacles and hardships which at the time seemed unbearable. Because of these experiences, I found the help I needed to make lasting change that is still with me 20 years later.
Prior to becoming a clinician, I worked for more than 15 years in a demanding corporate environment; during this time, I was married and divorced, moved across the country three times and struggled with depression and anxiety.
Thankfully, I also had access to a wonderful therapist who facilitated a process that consisted of a lot of challenging self-work that paid off big time. This life experience, combined with my education and training in mental health, allows me to not only understand the needs of my clients, but to provide genuine empathy without a stitch of judgement.
